I own both sets but i have the 57/66 tw set and i’m torn deciding what to move over into my gibson lp. Both sound really good. I guess the 81 is better geared towards “the cut” in the mix but the 57 is better at “blending” with open chords and arpeggiations with high gain. It’s the compromise i wish i didn’t have to make lol

had the combo of this amp--it's still the best lead tone I've ever experienced. It can be hit or miss on heavy rhythm, depending on your taste. If you like Rectifiers, this amp will satisfy you because it plays a little dry and it's got a lot of saturation to it--but--it's a little more "juicy" than a Rec and doesn't have as much low end. If you modded this thing with a resonance knob, it'd be a fucking monster.

What about the amp heads that let you select the wattage? I have a 2x12"/16ohm 30w tube combo and as soon as my kid ghets on the 22"holychina and dbl kicks the guitfiddle goes MIA.... You say 50w is enough to hear with drums and bass, and ive seen 50w heads with adjustable wattage are those quite enough to play with ppl upstairs in bed AND do the power trio thing?

Sorry you didn't like yours. I bought a black one in 2000, and I still have it today. I haven't played it in years, but I love it. I hope it went to a good home, and who ever bought it will appreciate it more than you did. It's a unique little guitar, and not quite for everybody.

Very nice demo… Can you answer a question for me please… I have a LTD Viper 1000 with open core classics, they have always seemed distorted sounding to me until I discovered that the knob closest to the neck controlled all the volume so I could keep the knob closest the bridge all the way off… When I do this the tone seems to clear up… Can you explain this I am totally baffled about how to set what where… Thanks

Any guitar can do metal with pedals and good amps... Iv seen ppl with old jazz Gretsch Guitars and jazzmaster playing metallica and iron maiden, but they all had overdrive pedals, delay and compression on...

I think the orange for his price is the most versatile of them all

The knife edges on the Floyd rose licensed trem wears out. Then they will not tune or intonate. By a real floyd original. The copy’s are pot metal. The real ones are hard steel (made in Germany) you can get one for 200.00 brand new, instead of throwing your cheap guitar away. I put one on my Ibanez jem jr and I love it.

I have several epiphones. I set them up myself and polish frets. No issues.

Overall, the tiny terror for me. The micro dark has a bit too much gain for me. I liked the slight crunch on the micro dark the most though.
